4th Annual "Bags for Kids" Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser
It's Not too Late to Make a Difference On behalf of the James R. Jordan Foundation, we are grateful for the support of so many generous sponsors and friends who have and will contribute to our vital educational work in the Chicago communities of Englewood, West Haven and Rogers Park. Through the support of donors like you, we have been able to keep our students and families in programs which provide opportunities that are not otherwise available to them. This Fall, because of the pandemic, it is not possible for us to gather in-person for our annual “Bags for Kids” Fundraiser. Nevertheless the need is great as our programs depend on it. This year we went virtual. You can still watch the All Star Competition with past tournament winners; hear a special message from Mrs. Deloris Jordan, JRJF President & Founder; JRJF student scholar Takira and tips on how to “Play Like a Pro”. This is an opportunity to support a worthy cause. Please join us as we continue to provide a pathway out of poverty through education. Funds will support students through JRJF educational programs. It's not too late to make an impact for the students and families who need it the most. Won’t you help us? No donation is too small.

Beyond the Classroom
Takira is an energetic first grade student at William H. Brown STEM Magnet School who recently was reading at a middle 1st grade level. With the help of her teacher and our staff at JRJF, Takira worked with determined diligence on sight words, short and long vowels, and reading out loud through our Virtual Read with Me! (RWM) sessions. Her official post-assessment revealed that she was able to raise her reading skills one whole grade level as a result of her hard work. Takira, like all of us, is beyond excited at her success. We work with students from a very young age to make literacy a top priority. For students like Takira at our four partner schools remote learning continues. You can help make remote learning a success by helping provide the tools students will need in their new classroom. Resources for many of our students are limited and families look towards schools for support. This year they will need more support than ever, you can provide much needed relief. Like many events today, you can join online!
All funds raised will through "Beyond the Classroom" will be used for supplies and technology for students. |

Mission
The James R. Jordan Foundation provides a pathway out of poverty by empowering youth to achieve their full potential and by leveling the playing field so they can become successful human beings and productive contributors to society. We do this by creating networks of support for families and communities, motivating youth, and ensuring high-quality academic opportunities for youth in under-served communities. The James R. Jordan Foundation is dedicated to supporting students and families through access to knowledge and by exposing them to resources that contribute to their life success.
Vision
Every hard-working child in the Chicagoland area will reach their full potential and compete in the field of their choice, anywhere in the world, regardless of their socio-economic status.
What We Do
The James R. Jordan Foundation (JRJF) believes that all children deserve equal opportunity and access to a quality education. We aim to level the academic playing field to ensure that hard-working students have the opportunity to attain a higher education regardless of socio-economic status.
